How can therapy help?

Therapy can help with a wide array of challenges. Whether you're dealing with stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, anxiety, or depression, therapy provides a safe space for healing and growth. Through evidence-based techniques and a supportive therapeutic relationship, you can acquire coping skills, enhance your interactions in relationships, and achieve greater emotional and psychological well-being. Ultimately, therapy is a journey towards a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.

How long and how often do I need to attend therapy before I feel better?

How long one attends therapy will vary from one individual to another based on presenting concerns. Sessions typically occur once per week for approximately 45 minutes.  Based on your unique needs, therapy can be short-term (a few weeks to months) or long-term (months to years).  During your first therapy session, you and your therapist will collaboratively determine the recommended course and length of treatment.  Your therapist will conduct reassessments throughout the course of treatment to monitor progress.

How can I gain the most out of therapy?

Therapy works best when you are clear about your goals and approach your journey openly and honestly. Therapy is a collaborative process that requires the therapist and the client to be actively involved.  Your commitment to engaging in out-of-session practice of newly learned skills as an adjunct to the work done within the session can also further promote change and personal growth.

Can I use insurance for sessions?

EverTrue Therapy & Wellness is an out-of-network provider for all insurance panels, which means we do not bill insurance directly. Many PPO insurance plans may reimburse you in full or in part for therapy services. Typically, as an out-of-network client, you'll pay for your sessions upfront and then submit your bills to your insurance company for reimbursement. To determine if your insurance covers therapy with an out-of-network provider, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly. You can find their contact information on the back of your insurance card. When you call, consider asking the following questions to understand your out-of-network benefits better:

  • Does my insurance plan cover therapy sessions, whether individual or couples?

  • Is out-of-network mental health coverage included in my plan?

  • What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network mental health services?

  • Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health providers? If so, how much is it?

  • What is the maximum number of sessions covered per year for out-of-network providers?

  • What is the process for submitting a claim for out-of-network mental health services?

  • Are there any limitations or exclusions related to individual or couples therapy in the insurance policy?

  • How long does it typically take to process a reimbursement claim?

This Sounds Like a Great Fit, But What If I Live Outside of Texas?

Teletherapy services are available to clients in multiple states, thanks to the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT #19183) granted by the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) Commission. This means that even if you live outside of Texas, you may still be eligible to receive the support you need.
